SK - Grade 3

Every Sunday

UMCA French Club

This program aims to provide your child with a fun, effective and challenging way to learn French at an early age.

At UMCA, we believe exposure to a second language should begin as early as possible, as language integration is easier during the formative years.

Our “Petit Prince” group was created for students from Senior Kindergarten – Grade 3  with little to no previous exposure to the French language. We provide a warm, happy and enriching environment in which our students are free to develop at their own individual pace. Our learning environment is nurturing and supportive, giving every student his or her opportunity to achieve academic and personal success.

Children have an amazing ability to adapt and learn new languages. Our program allows all children to successfully learn French even if more than one language is spoken at home. Through continuous exposure to the language, children learn to associate words and concepts in French while learning proper pronunciation and intonation. Many times, children who already speak another language have a better capacity to learn additional languages

Petit Prince Program (Senior Kindergarten - Grade 3)

Each Sunday, our students will enjoy French lessons in small groups (maximum 5 students per class). They will acquire basic vocabulary and improve upon what is on focused in class. We will introduce songs, arts and crafts, communicative and educative games, video and hands-on activities as an integral part of each lesson.

We use and provide quality materials from France and a proven structured learning method that has been tested at UMCA over the last 10 years.
