About Kindergarten

Kindergarten forms the foundation of a child’s education and that’s why we take it so seriously. At UMCA Rich Tree Academy, our curriculum goes far beyond the Ministry of Education’s requirements and aims to provide children with the building blocks required to ensure their time in education is as successful as possible.

Our youngest students are prepared for life in school via the utilization of the most effective learning techniques. At the forefront of what our kindergarten department does is gentle encouragement. Our students learn to focus on activities and exhibit executive function skills which will prepare them for the transition to elementary school.

Our Philosophy

Children in kindergarten are more in need of guidance. Our curriculum offers our students the chance to hone their academic and social skills and ensure they are fully prepared to succeed in Grade 1 at UMCA. Together, they learn the importance of collaborative practice while also developing the skills that they require to flourish in the classroom environment.

Our teachers are attuned to our student’s unique development and are widely considered to offer the finest quality support that kindergarten students need to grow into successful children. The basis of our kindergarten’s success is the small class sizes. By limiting the size of our classes, we ensure that students get as much or as little support as they require.

Health Policy

UMCA Rich Tree Academy carries out regular health inspections of all children as they arrive each day and follows the Department of Public Health’s regulations to determine any illness.
