“From the seeds of friendship, mighty oaks of achievement grow.”
More than 20 years ago, three young, creative, and motivated ladies – Svetlana Pinski, Zarina Aksmanov, and Suzana Pinsky – shared a dream: to create a successful, advanced school filled with opportunities and a bright future for every child who would learn and grow within its walls. From this dream, UMCA was born.
In 2003, UMCA took its very first step by opening a small after-school and weekend enrichment program. The success of these early classes proved that families were searching for a place where learning felt exciting and meaningful. This foundation of trust, creativity, and community became the driving force behind UMCA’s future growth, paving the way for the successful school it is today.
In 2006, UMCA opened a full preschool for young learners and early-grade students. From these modest beginnings, the school quickly grew into a vibrant community where creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning flourish every day. Our dedicated teachers guide students with care, helping them discover their strengths and reach their highest potential.
Over the years, UMCA expanded its programs, enriched its curriculum, and became a place where friendships, ideas, and confidence grow.
In 2014, we proudly opened our high school, gained the ability to grant Ontario credits, and welcomed international students. With our move to the spacious JCC building, we introduced new after-school programs and strengthened our community through family events, art shows, and celebrations. Even during COVID-19, UMCA remained open – ensuring students stayed engaged, supported, and connected.
Today, UMCA is home to around 350 students and over 60 inspiring teachers and staff. Our alumni continue to succeed in universities and careers around the world, carrying with them the strong foundation and love of learning they discovered here.
And the founders did it – their dream became a thriving reality.
With the same vision and passion that shaped UMCA from the start, Suzana Pinsky and her team continue to lead the school – keeping it successful, forward-thinking, and ready for new adventures.
We welcome your child and you to take a tour of our school to experience first-hand the sense of community, the enthusiasm and involvement of our students in learning, and the dedication of our teaching team.
